Decornering currency markets with local currencies

“Economic sustainability; provide financial motivation for continued growth over time. Empower people by improving their economic or social status.”

This is possible through the introduction of local (people’s) currencies to free the monetary solutions that are actually restricted by private banking actors that have DE FACTO cornered the “currency-creation market”.

Michele, I like your subject of local currencies, but I am not sure how efficient it could be on a sustain basis, as liquidity, and trust are important factors for the long term value of a currency in this global market. Regards.

Better you fully read the papers, at least the one from Bernard Lietaer in French above. After that you can get a better idea.

This is a fascinating subject with a lot of potential. Clearly our current system, which often has the effect of assigning a value of zero to the most essential things- air, water, not to mention love and care of children, etc., while assigning an enormous value to banalities such as a particular brand or style- causes a number of serious problems. It is rather absurd that our own invention- money- now trips us up so often, frequently preventing us from using available labor to get valuable work done. It is ironic that our ancestors, using 'primitive' barter systems, had no such difficulty.

Also, there is the even more natural form of the gift economy, which is what every other system in the universe uses, where extra resources are offered for free, to anyone who wants them, without any kind of "score" being kept. Trees give off oxygen freely, the sun gives off energy freely, worms produce soil freely, and lovers give love freely, all without demanding anything in return, simply because we living things are made to both inhale and exhale. :-)

Michelle, this is a fascinating topic to me, thank you for sharing it. I do see this type of thing happening in the virtual world all over the place. Some of the local currencies being based losely on real currency, and others based on things like time or skill, as well as even popularity. I would say that even the PowerVotes here on Evoke are a certain currency (especially once the leaderboard comes back). Do you have a specific plan you think should be implemented?

Michelle, those are great references, but I was wondering if you could throw out some details of how you think this should be integrated into the world practically.

Audit The European Central Bank

To: European Commission

AUDIT THE ECB AND NATIONAL PARTNERS!

We ask for the auditing of the European Central Bank, following similar initiatives occurring in the US, like the proposal of the acts HR1207 and S604. The so-called Public Debt is incurred because the European states surrendered the sovereign right to issue their own money to private corporations that lend it at interest. So instead of paying for the paper and ink costs of banknotes we have to raise taxes to fulfill the megalomaniac and sociopathic ego of private bankers.
Restore monetary sovereignty and give back the monetary rent (at least the 7% of the GDP) to the nations! China is doing exactly like that and this is why they will EVER outperform us! Protect the destiny of our children. Stop the crazy money-machine NOW!

Sincerely,

The Undersigned (478 as of March 26, 2010)

"The solvency constraint of the Central Bank only requires that the present discounted value of its net non-monetary liabilities be non-positive in the long run. Its monetary liabilities are liabilities only in name, as they are irredeemable: the holder of base money cannot insist at any time on the redemption of a given amount of base money into anything else other than the same amount of itself (base money)."

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
