Per the above link - in generically in the US. most any of our crisis are more based on the distrution systems internally and externally to our nation. (e.g. the staples restrictions of 2008 (rice etc) causing many high powered food distributers to limit purchase quantities) However, to get back to fundamentals is the base of this innovative solution.
Ending poverty by rebuilding local food economies vs. corporation control. These need to be rebuilt from the ground up for most areas facing high prices / or lack of items in general. Peer-to-peer training and support sessions are starting up via the US Food Crisis Group and the 1st forum will bring together as many as 20,000 people in Detroit, Michigan on June 22-26, 2010. This will potentially involve building a delegation of urban and rural farmers, farmworkers, food workers, and other food system leaders who are creating the solutions to the food crisis, as well as organizing a series of workshops and activities focused on the campaign.
