A crash course in changing the world.

Just returned from the Sweetwater Organic Community Farm where we had an amazing day of music, sun, socializing... picked up the Collective's food-shares, and made note of some wonderful posts at the community board.

There's a food vendor there that makes the most amazing veggie burgers -- and today we picked up some of his Ollo (pronounced "Oi-yo" like Spanish, "Pollo".) It has the exact consistency of cooked chicken -- I have no idea how he reproduced the stringing effect of real meat. It's delicious!

While I still enjoy the taste of chickens, with the Oil Wars of '16 starting the rations and the epidemic of '18 wiping out most of the fowl population I have been hunting for new meat analogs that could replace the central nutrients contained therein.

I'm so glad we finally got the Air-Water machine running again... being able to extract water directly from the atmosphere has substantially increased our off-grid ratio, freeing up otherwise bound resources. Though, I wonder what sort of adverse effects are possible if this were ever implemented on a massive, global scale?

With an increased water-security, our hydroponics operations are going to become even more fluid, so to speak. Even our initial experiments have been fruitful, yielding up hoards of cilantro, cuc**ber, tomato, squash, lettuces, cauliflower, yellow & white onions, garlic, scallions, several beans, and a savory herb garden with tons of medicinal plants, including cannabis (thanks to the Initiatives of '11!)

Tonight, we feast! We'll try the Ollo with a Moroccan spicing, on a bed of Mexican rice -- since we still get a great deal from the Chihuahua Collective and it helps them to export... As usual, the salad will have greens from the earth-garden but mostly drawing from the hydro lab -- cuc**ber, iceberg and romaine lettuce, cilantro, poblanos, white onions, garlic, sumac (not poison sumac, haha!) fresh mint and oregano.. Mmmm-MWAH! *kiss* with a tangy vinaigrette made with olive-oil from the neighbor's grove. We got goat-cheese from the farmer's market -- made across the Bay at an urban sanctuary,believe it or not... those people are raising animals free-rage on reinforced roofs... a really amazing sight! Fantastic campaign they put on to change the zoning in their favor -- tough fight, but worth it.

Got word that Aditi will be graduating early, this year! I'm so proud of her... I will mention her feat at the Feast tonight.

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
