A crash course in changing the world.

Can a game like this really change the world?

I made a new friend tonight. She sent me a message that I wish I could give her a SPARK vote for. She asked me the question "Can a game like this really change the world?" This got me thinking...here was my response to her:

All it takes to change the world is to change the thinking of one person. Each and every person on here has heard the call to participate
and in doing so, each person involved is changing. These changes will
reverberate through the individuals and how they interact with others.
It will spread through the communities the countries and eventually the
world.

I do believe that there are also many great ideas being presented, and
for those who run with their ideas, their efforts will change the lives
of the people in their target populations. These more immediate changes
will also affect people in the surrounding areas.

In truth, the EVOKE network is like a domino, the first domino, with
many others lined up in an intricate pattern behind it. We may not see
the effect immediately, but it will cause change.

I am just happy to be a part of it, and happy so many others are as
well. I think it is going to be amazing to watch and see what happens!

I would love to hear what other have to say...

Domino effect is one way of putting it. Another is "creation of small networks which have high potency. Those networks can then with time start that domino effect".

I am still curious to see what kind of substantial networks EVOKE can inspire.

As babies we learn to rock, then to crawl. Once we get our legs, we wobble and we fall...but eventually we learn to run.

The same goes for the world's mind....someday the world will get its legs and be able to run, run with the ideas people like us have, thoughts we have for our future generations of humanity...but it all starts with rocking.

**adding cause I forgot a line....

I too am glad to be a part of this network, even if I personally only make a small impact in my own tiny corner of the world, then it was worth it. And it is also so great and refreshing to be able to collaborate and speak with minds all over the world who think like I do, instead of focusing on negatives....developing positives.

There is an subtle yet interesting section that I noticed which is that is that she asked using the phrase "a game like this" and not just generally about games. One can hear the hope, simply in her questions tone, reserving hope that even in the the possibility that Evoke cannot cause change, a different, improved version of the same thing could. Perhaps Evoke will not turn the tides by its self, but it will surely be a ripple in the wave that does

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
