Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

My Evokation for 2010 Helping empower Battered Women, Children and Men stop the cycle of abuse by Sunny du Pree

I touch many lives in real life, and hope to exponentially increase my ability to assist and inspire through online outreach and face to face counciling. I know that I can be an effective counsellor/trainer to help those who are abused, and to help stop the cycle of violence in Amarillo and the surrounding areas. I have an area of influence that is large. I have helped thousands of people get better lives by helping them with personal issues such as mental illness, physical handicap, lack of schooling, social issues and acquire new careers as well. I have done this for the past 15 years. I have helped many people with abusive issues and I would serve better if I took training in this area.

I have researched many allies with whom I will work as part of the BIPP volunteer efforts. These include the Texas Council on

Family Violence, which is a 501 (c) (3) headquartered in Austin, Texas.
For a complete list of sites in Texas, please reference my darksite here:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Battering-Intervention-and-Prevention-Programs-BIPP/104495989597198

Battering Intervention and Prevention Programs (BIPPs) consist of groups for family violence offenders, in which offenders are held accountable for
past abusive behavior and taught the fundamentals of leading a
nonviolent lifestyle. Although BIPPS work directly with offenders, the
underlying goal of these programs is to enhance the safety of battered
women and their children.

Currently there are 27 BIPPs in Texas. These BIPPs must adhere to the state standards which have been established as best practices. (NOTE: these
standards are called Guidelines, but, in fact, they are not optional. I have listed these guidelines on my darksite.)

My training will be directed by these BIPP guidelines. Initial
training requirements for new providers and/or employees of a new
provider (full-time, part time,or contract), interns and volunteers
(full-time or part-time) who will be working directly with batterers
and/or who will be supervising employees who will be working directly
with batterers includes completing and doc**enting 40 hours (15 hours of
family violence and 25 hours of battering intervention) of TDCJ-CJAD
approved training before working with batterers which there are three cla**** charging five hundred dollars per class. I would supplement any additional costs not covered by any scholarships or prize awards that I possible might receive.

Training Topics Approved
Family violence training that includes but is not limited to the following:
1. Dynamics of family violence including the history of the movement;
2. Battering is intentional behavior aimed at achieving and maintaining dominance within a
relationship;
3. Characteristics of batterers and their behavior;
4. Victim safety, safety planning and risk a****sment for victims;
5. Effects of violence on the victim, children and the community at large;
6. Texas family violence laws and state reporting laws; and
7. Protective orders and other legal information.
Battering intervention training that includes but is not limited to the following:
1. Review of TDCJ-CJAD BIPP guidelines;
2. Cultural competency as a BIPP facilitator;
3. Batterer accountability;
4. Victim/partner contact;
5. A****sment and individual plans including risk a****sment and
non-violence planning;
6. Inappropriate interventions for batterers and other facilitator concerns;
7. Group facilitation of batterers;
8. A****sing and reporting change of the batterer to the referral source;
9. Ethics for BIPP facilitators; and
10. Family violence prevention as a social justice issue.

If I am able to accomplish my evocation goals and train as a BIPP volunteer, I would be working in Amarillo and the surrounding panhandle with the
Texas Council on Family Violence
http://www.tcfv.org/service-directory/battering-intervention-and-pr...
They could help me realize my dream of helping women and children learn how to avoid abuse. They have an online battering intervention and
prevention project.
http://www.tcfv.org/pdf/guidelines.pdf''
I would also be working with many women’s shelters if my project is picked. For complete listing, background and contact
information, please refer to http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?topic=25&uid=104495989597198#!/pages/Battering-Intervention-and-Prevention-Programs-BIPP/104495989597198

And I plan to contribute to existing websites, such as EMERGE, to help keep their information complete and up to date. I have such sites on my darksite

Thank you very much for your time and consideration of my Evokation. I feel that I will succeed in this area because I have been helping people
all of my life. It is my life's work to help people have a better quality of life.
Grace and Peace

Hi Sunny, This is you! I have no doubt that you will succeed, with or without the UE funding.

It's late in the game but I had a little trouble identifying the four essential elements. The place (Amarillo and surounds) is buried towards the end of the proposal. You could just add it to the end of your first paragraph: "... help stop the cycle of violence here in Amarillo and the surrounding communities, as well as on-line".

Your first paragraph states The Challenge quite clearly. I might rearrange the wording just a bit to hit your purpose a little harder. "I touch many lives in real life, and hope to exponentially increase my ability to assist and inspire those who are abused, and to help stop the cycle of violence. I know that, through on-line research, I can be an effective counsellor/trainer.

Your last paragraph is strong, confident and to the point. And states why you will succeed. The bulk of your proposal says how you will succeed. Do you now have a working relationship with any of the organizations you mention? Do you have experience in this field (professional or personal - not, have you been battered, but have you befriended a neighbor and seen her begin to build confidence through your support?)

The Money: You need to state clearly what you will spend the money for. Don't risk not being chosen by leaving this out.

Good luck to you,
Peggie

By the way, please don't let my annoying habit of speaking with the voice of authority fool you into believing that I know what I'm talking about. It's all just opinion. What you have is good. And it's consistent with what we know of you through your blogs.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
