bRUCE...I note...your TV studies in S.A....and your interest in learning Spanish. I have introduced my College...Shanghai Industry and Commerce Foreign Languages College...to a Film/TV College based in Caracas Venezuela, which is just preparing to open to students from abroad, including Nigeria...and China etc. http://www.riverocooper.com/escinetv.html
RE: Lappe...yes...I visited w/them in S.F. some 25 years ago...And I've been vegetarian also for 25 years. The eco-movie HOME shows the link between meat-industry and eco-crises.I can see EVOKE is fine for networking, but wonder how it can turn the world of the neo-Titanic. I'm quite curious about how this is sponsored by World Bank..."guilty until proven innocent..."
Thanks for your words Bruce. I am glad to have gotten to know you through the Evoke Network. Fate brought me here and I will continue to do my part. I will be supportive of you and others on the network.
Hi Bruce, Bandwith a real problem here in Limpopo - tried to get back to you eralier, but failed. Am happy to see that 'Small is (still) Beautifull' after all these years! !970s was the Schumacher and alternative yeras in SA culminating in a lot of Environmental and Development Agngecy (ours) stuff.......
Briefly, to your question, if you still get it, I go for quality and not mass, as that makes for poor focus. Hope I have time to 'Evoke' a bit, as in Public Health it is a battle to even get collegues to wake yp to climate change, food security, water issues, etc...... Best, Jakes
Hey Bruce- I'm not sure if you get my responses when you comment, so I'll double post until then. I have read Spell of the Sensuous - great book. I'm flattered that you thought of it in response to my post. I actually read the book for a class I took with its author David Abrams - truly a visionary man. My schtick is indigenous knowledge and BTW you are in a great place to be deepening your connection to the landscape. There are many practitioners in South Africa. Plus, I am totally envious you have beautiful African sunshine and I am stuck with Pennsylvania snow. :)
Thanks for all the feedback on my evidence uploads. Can't wait to go through yours and read the article you linked me to. My Amharic tutor is coming in 10 minutes, so I gotta get off line, but I'll see you here soon.
hahahahha... sure we will beat SA team, but only if you get to the finals... LOL... listen, there is an image of alchemy in the left, asking you: want to mentor? Get your special assignment!

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More
In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More
It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Foods are vacc** sealded for easy…See More
FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

I'm not South African, I'm an American in South Africa! I love it here, it's absolutely fascinating!
Is your cousin in Guatemala now? I've done a lot of work in the western highlands of Guatemala, specifically with ex-guerrilla communities.
