A crash course in changing the world.
The yellow house is where I live right now. We are surrounded by trees that were planted by my parents, grandparents, and other relatives. They were able to build a haven for us by helping one another.
On the other side of the road (represented by the yellow box) is a large area with informal settlers, living in low quality houses made of scrap metal and plywood. Their living condition is probably is way below anyone deserves to be. As such, they resort to violence, gambling, looting, and other things that worsen their long term conditions.
In 2020, I plan to contact the real landowners of this area..but I won't tell them to remove the informal settlers. Instead, I want to help them sell it to them eventually (instead of donating it to them). The plan is to make them into an Urban Resilient Community (URC) which would eventually reimburse the original land owners after x number of years.
URCs will be a template for future urban housing developments. The plan is to make this community self-sustaining, with each member of the community contributing to its others members in their own unique ways by creating small-to-medium enterprises. A part of their earnings can be used to pay the original landowners until the agreed amount is reached
