This is a general call out to all of you with cultural backgrounds (i.e. everyone!)
I am looking quite seriously at the effects of culture on sustainable practices, both positive and negative, and was wondering if any of you know of any cultural practices that promote sustainability. From my Jewish background, I know that we're supposed to sow seeds in a field for six years, changing them every harvest season, and leaving the land to lie fallow for the seventh. Any of you have any others that are similar? Or even completely new ones? For all of you who reply with solid, verifiable customs and practices, I'll visit your articles and give you as many points as I can. What I'm after is information!
Thanks
