Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

Hello EVOKE,

It is time to get back to work. I have been working on a couple of projects: SEED, Gratitude Gardens, Wind Powered Laptop--but I am interested in what you all are doing?

I think it would be awesome if everyone made a brief reply that explained what they are currently working on, that way we can all offer suggestions and comments!

So come on; What are you evoking?

Thank you, Wintermute! I will do so, if not with this challenge, with others.

I am working to re-engineer Intellectullay challenged individuals into the bigger social framework. Am working with an insititute that provides training and employment for such individuals. I am working on getting seed fund for setting up a paper-cup project at the said institue.

@JoshuaZ--sure thing!

@Rama--Getting more people into employment especially intellectually challenged individuals, as you put it, is a great way to help people. I look forward to hearing more about your project. Whats a paper-cup project?

Rama, one thing that would be immensely helpful for all sort of "challenged" folks, and everyone else, as well, would be to have more open ended kinds of work, that allows people to choose their own jobs and hours. Similar to the Mechanical Turk website outsourcing work from Amazon. Sort of like micro temp work. I don't have the interest or emotional ability to do something boring for days on end, but I do have the capacity and interest to do some menial labor jobs that require the human touch for an hour or two on most days. And I might take on something challenging that my skills and interests mesh well with for longer term work, too. But because I'm not good at acting like a robot, I'm not seen as particularly employable by most employers, and because there aren't really any other options, I'm screwed. Creating that other option would be ideal for so many different types of people!

Hello wintermute,
my vision is simple - the problems presented here on evoke are not the main thing - they are only the simptoms. what is more important is to focus on what caused these problems (and many others) - the way we perceive ourselves and the world - our consciousness.
to solve this problem we need a mind shift, and we need it fast.
the fastest way we know today is through technology, so this is where I'm aiming - to create a technological platform that allows this...

@ Benny--you are so right, and history is littered with examples of when a paradigm shift lead to major development because it freed up the collective head space. I think that one shift in thinking that is going to lead to some pretty exiting development is biomimicry. I think that focusing on developing global consciousness and awareness that we are all interconnecting would be a HUGE step in the right direction. Interesting, keep us posted!

Turil...that is a great idea. I also can't find a job simply because I am not willing or capable of appearing conventional in a public and doing repetative tasks for indefinite periods of time.

Benny has made a profound comment: "to solve this problem we need a mind shift, and we need it fast" and I do believe completely what Benny said with regards to the role of technology. It will be wonderful to see Benny succeed.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
