A crash course in changing the world.
People have some strange belief that big problems require big complex solutions.
Giving things away apparently doesn't work in Africa. So why not solve two problems with one solutions? How do we do this? Simply.
Work will need to be done. Things need to be built, maintained, so forth. Unemployment can be extremely high in most parts of Africa.
This unemployment is the key to solving the problem, not the problem. Use this unused resource by giving them what you would normally "give away" as payment. Pay them with what would normally be free.
Projects can be centered around this. For example, a farmer may need help to increase his wheat harvest but he needs people. He cannot pay people, not now. So you invest in this farmer using the above human resources. This farmer can then pay the original investor, the person providing the originally "free" food or other form of "free" payment.
Other examples can be seen all over if one were to simply look. People become lazy if they are constantly aided for free. If they are aided for a day(s) work in return then work gets done both ways.
Think Simple. Solve Complex.
