Take a look around you. Something YOU use or do every day could be powered differently.
Your challenge this week is to DESIGN A NEW WAY TO POWER something you use everyday. Maybe it's your mobile phone. Maybe it's the light you use to read at night.
Your solution should be cheaper, or more sustainable, than your current power source.
It's an ambitious challenge -- but you're an EVOKE agent. You know that even if you fail, you can learn from your efforts... and maybe even inspire someone along the way.
Share your design in a blog post, video or image. For legendary honors, make your idea real -- and show us in photo or video your brand new power source in action!

Replace all my lights with energy efficient LED light bulbs.
I would create some form or energy that would allow me to use my blow drier without wasting energy.
I would design an iphone charger that stops charging when the iphone has charged to 100%. This would cut off the electricity usage from having the phone plugged in all night. With all of the iphones that are used daily, can you imagine the amount of energy we all could save by having a cell-phone charger that does that?
I would design a better version of solar panels that cover your roof and power your entire house's electric system. The ones they have now are very expensive so I would make them affordable to the everyday person.
Everybody moves, so my idea to power the electronics around us would be to harbor the energy from movements. As soon as people wake up they are moving: they have to get ready for work or school (taking a shower, eating breakfast, getting dressed, etc.) then once they are at work or school they continue moving, whether it is walking around, typing, writing, or talking. All of these movements would acc**ulate throughout the day and could be used to power things like cell phones, lap tops, and other devices.
I would create a hair brush that creates energy with every stroke, because think of how many people brush their hair.
My idea would be a mobile phone that can send a signal to power your nearest device... Say a computer. It would only be an emergency source of power though. The real energy would come from the solar energy panels that could be very easily made with recycled metals.
I would create wheels for cars, bikes, motorcycles, or any vehicle. As they spun, they created energy harvested in a small pluggable pouch that has a universal plug used for anything.
I would create shoes that generate power that can be plugged into wall sockets. Since everyone walks then everyone will have energy. Also, it would cut down on obesity leading to a more healthy world!
I would try to put "electirc" pumps at local gas stations. Also, it would be a good idea to try to make a car out of recycled mats. I mean, we can make shirts and pens out of this stuff, so why not a car?
tax breaks for windfarms and convincing the private industry that the next green innovation will be the next money-maker
I would make cabinet/door hinges that produce energy every time that you open and close the cabinet/door. I think that this would make a lot of energy. Think about how many times you open and close things every day!
I would convince major gas stations such as Shell, Chevron, Texaco, etc. to add plugs at every station to convince more people to buy electric cars. This would conserve non-renewable energy such as gas and oil a ton.
I would make a house that makes energy by the heat waves in your body would charge the house.
If I were to change an everyday use item I would change the way a car works. I would change it by making it solar powered and at night if possible we'll make it wind powered and if all else fails we can try and make it run on vegetable oil!!! This can possibly reduce water pollution.
i would make a car that is made out of recycled stuff. this idea would reduce the amount of trash in the landfills and would make cars cheaper and more affordable.
I could attatch a solar panel to my cell phone. I could maybe make a way so that something could be powered off of humidity or heat as well. Something that could run off of flowing air through it is another idea.
You could use your main doors around the house that you push in and out providing energy. This idea could provide tons of energy for houses or just lamps near the door.
everyday people all over the world use laptops and we use power/electricity to power them and give them energy. Instead if wasting energy by plugging them in we could find another way with renewable energy like wind, and solar power to power our laptops.
