Refugee Camps

I read the article on the increase in violence against women in Haiti as a result of the earthquake there. While looking for more information on the issue, I ran across this article from Human Rights Watch about the same issue. Human Rights Watch has an entire section devoted to women's rights and I believe it could… Continue

Go Fly a Kite

Although it's still in the research phase, Saul Griffith's company Makani Power is developing a way to generate electricity from kites. While we are all familiar with wind power generated from giant turbines, Griffith says, in his TED talk, that there is much more potential for energy production using free-flying wings, such as kites, than turbines because free-flying wings can sweep… Continue

I gave a micro-loan via kiva.org to Sra. Sonia in Leon, Nicaragua. It's here fourth loan from Kiva and this time she is using the money to pay for the university expenses of here daughter who is taking cla**** in Business Administration. Still $300 needed as of the time of writing!

When I decided to loan to Kiva, I looked through the different sectors to decide which I believed to be the most important. I settled on education because I believe that…

Mobile Transactions

I believe that cell phone transactions are likely to make the greatest impact in transforming the future of money. Such transactions are becoming increasingly widespread and they have several advantages. First, cell phone coverage gives the reach and mobility of internet-based transactions but mobile networks often spread faster than the internet into rural communities. With the increasing spread of cell phones that can access the internet via mobile networks, the spread of mobile transactions… Continue

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
