After a brief weekend with my sponsor family in Charleston, I took the time to sit down and asked my parents what they knew in relation to our city's adaptive capacity. When considering crisis that have and may unfold in my community, I recognize the threats posed by hurricanes and tornados. Both weather systems have destructive effects that can be seen across both the state of South Carolina and the Southeast region of the United States. In terms of where I live, I feel that Charleston is at most risk for the possibility of a hurricane. In an effort to form an alliance with a water conservationist, I sought to research the best ways for me to better provide for a water-rich society. In my search, I discovered many organizations and various ways to help, but one group that stood out most to me is the Water Charity.
