Violence from Pollitical Extremists

I´m from an nice little town in the middle of Germany with 125.000 inhabitants, Göttingen. Normally everythings nice and quiet here, but there have been some events in the last few years that were a bit disturbing.
The thing is that Göttingen is a center of radical left wing activism, which sometimes is militant and violent.
Just recently we had a small bomb attack at a local government building. It was nothing big and nothing lethal, but it was still an act of political violence…

Rural women - key to economic growth

This article talks about the importance of women in rural communities.
Given the fact that they often are the chief executives of their areas and that on a global scale women cultivate more than half of the food that is grown on the earth it is astonishing that they are overlooked by most development strategies.
Even though there is the third millenium goal that sets the goal of promoting gender equality and empowering woman and several conferences held by the UN (e.g. one in…

Bambali is a German website on which people can trade goods against goods of approximately the same value.
The project was started in 2004 and has since become very successful. One can trade everything on bambali no matter wether it´s goods or services.
If one decides to trade something it is possible to trade either directly good or service against good or service or via the virtual currency "Bam".

Helping Shoeblack in La Paz

What I read about Mahila Milan reminded me very much of one part of the social work I´ll be doing for one year in La Paz. I´ll be working with shoeblacks helping them in every way I can. One of the biggest parts of the project is about saving money.
Those people are too poor to open a bank account on their own, no bank would let them. Often they don´t even have passports so that it is absolutely impossible to save money in a bank.
Instead they can give the money they want to save…

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
