American Dreams
Frozen, blank concrete won't hold his words;
even his mind no longer hears him,
only receives the slur of an unkempt, entropic life
like the night reception of a distant station
talking love and life in a foreign tongue.
Dime - he said - or time or chime or
the breeze takes it
as he counts his grungy pennies, quarters, nickels
with third grade math.
Broken in 1/2 is a lesson in fractions.
Broken in .5 is a lesson in decimals.
Snow creeps across our broadcasts -
the interference of a solid object.
Then the picture clears -
"Buy now. Buy now. Buy now."

Fourth of July on the Lake
This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal.
