Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

Fox News Says, "We won't make a difference." We beg to differ!

Not sure if you all have seen this recent report from Fox News but it asserts some interesting things worth addressing, namely:

"Critics of the game acknowledge that it's a noble effort to empower some of the world's most impoverished people, but they say the $500,000
venture is unlikely to produce tangible gains
, and they they question
how many young minds in Africa will be reached."

Now, instead of getting upset let's assume they're playing Devil's Advocate and use this as an opportunity to begin a discussion. What are some of the end-goals people would like to achieve? How do we reach young minds in Africa? What outcomes could we create from Evoke as individuals or a group?

To kickoff the brainstorming here's a few provocative propositions:

By May of 2010 -

  1. The Evoke community has curated a impressive collection of actionable information in all key areas of social innovation and change (including, food/energy production, waste/water/land management, community/team development, political action, and life-long learning skills such as information literacy). This information takes the form of a Wiki, Instructables, YouTube shorts, and comic books that portray the hero's journey, how to create change in your community, or the application of a low tech solutions.
  2. The Evoke community has collectively fund raised $1 Million dollars for the creation of fifty community youth centers in different cities around Africa staffed with mentors and computers to facilitate local youth involvement in change and education. Efforts are assisted by a still lively Evoke community enabling global support for local empowerment.
  3. An Evoke Social Innovator training camp is created to serve as a gap-year for high school graduates. The experience includes exposure to foundational facilitation and communication skills, problem solving strategies, tracts for specific skill development, and an internship abroad with a Non-profit or NGO.

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
