This year, Riverdale Country School debuted kinetic energy tiles that convert friction into kinetic energy. Senior, Zach Halem, lead the project of bringing tiles to the high school. The special tiles produce kinetic energy every time someone student steps, hops or jumps on their surface. Right now, the tiles are located in the school’s student center, but they hope to expand state- or even nation-wide.
