A crash course in changing the world.
This was the house of a nun in Waveland, Mississippi who had saved up enough supplies for her entire neighborhood. Every room was full of cleaning supplies and food, 5 refrigerators stocked to the brim.
She thought that Katrina would only come to her doorstep, as Camille did in 1969.
The storm surge for Katrina went over her house.
Everything was lost. We were able to salvage the frame and she was eventually able to rebuild on the studs, but it took hundreds of man-hours and exposed all of us to toxic mold.
This was the first house I really tried to remediate, and was one of the hardest. We didn't get it down to the studs until THREE MONTHS after we started.
