A crash course in changing the world.
This patch represents the Three Sisters Garden of Native Americans. Squash, maize, and beans were all planted close together. Since the patch is physical and will not wear down or become obsolete, the information has been encoded and will continue on for generations. The importance of this information comes with its original use. Settlers could survive with the use of traditional, native growing methods and adopted the Three Sisters to grow into an agricultural society.
