Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

One of the best solution to water crisis. We need to have dams where water can be kept for future used. Proper purification should be ensured, good Engineers should be appointed to survey and build such dams, this is for a long term objective.

Maybe in America, In South Africa, they are used as the main source of water supply. They built a dam somewhere far from town, for water supply, a number of pipelines can be linked to supply water. Water dams are a two way process solution, therefore I thank you for remembering me about that. But it is officially used for water supply in farms for irrigation and homes for cooking and other essential needs.

Dams can be used to collect Rain water, for family water usage, Tanks are suggested given that water is properly purified to ensure good health.

Bongu, Pana, I think you're arguing over semantics. Many dam are also reservoirs. The can accomplish multiple functions. In some cases, they are incredibly damaging to natural ecosystems. In others, they provide valuable electricity and water storage while only filling existing lakes up to traditional flood lines. Its not a completely cut and dry situation...

I agree with Nick, generally speaking. But for what concerns dry areas, dams shouldn't be seen as a solution, at all.
They alter ecosystems so profoundly that they make water issues worse: having a problem solved in the short term, shouldn't make people blind for the consequences there could be in the long term

I agree with all your comments, it may cause damage to Ecosystem, but our concerned is to supply water, we need to remember that Water is Life. We cannot live without water, Therefore we need a LOng solution objective. Building dams can be one of the best solution. We can come out with plans and approach about how it can be used in way that doesnot affect Ecosystem. It is possible to do that.

When you research deeply on a certain problem, you get to know things that you just can't change and which you should consider for making the right choices, both in the short and in the long term.
What I meant was that water is part of the ecosystems, therefore you can't prioritize one over the other. They're just different ways of looking at the same problem. And thinking in abstract, saying "let's do it the same, we'll find a way to deal with the rest", is not that forseeing.
But we probably just don't share our visions Bongumusa. Silly of me, trying to explain.
I won't bother you further with my knowledge and opinions.

Watch out a new Research for LEARN4 ON Dams as a Critical Resource
Comment by MoE on March 28, 2010 at 12:28am
I've only found a single line about dams in your post and only a few generalized notes in your comments, which I normally don't call "research". And I didn't find any creative solution, as it was asked by the LEARN4 mission, sorry.
Again, maybe we're just addressing our efforts in opposite directions.

I like Panamerican, he keep me going every time if I came out with new and impressive work. In this world, we cannot live if selfisness people does not exist. We can be successful because of those who are against us. Learn4 =Water is Life on my blogpost. It is an intregatef answer to Dams issue as a solution to Water crisis. If you pay attention, you read, creative staff, real project. I have connection with COGA, INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT ZONE IN PORT ELIZABETH. I want to work there as the Environmental Auditor.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
