Flood Proof Rice and Vertical Farming for Flood Prone Countries

Last Year, 2 Typhoons ravaged my country. Ondoy and Pepeng. In my 28 years of living in the Philippines not once have I experienced such a massive flood like Ondoy. Cars literally submerged underwater, underground walkways turned into aquariums, houses lost, people stranded on their roofs, lives lost. Resulting in major damage to city infrastructure which may take years to fix. Pepeng on the other hand ravaged the provinces a month after resulting in major food shortage, with the floods hitting… Continue

Where will I be in 2020?

I'll be here in the Philippines.

At this time I will be part of collective group of like minded people who've set up their own Think tank/game development company called Game for Change. I believe that to solve the world's problems or any problem for that manner, you have to see it as a game, and yourself as a hero.

In my country, poverty has been problem that never seems to go away. From it stems a myriad of other problems that seem to cycle to create more widespread poverty. I aim to… Continue

Beth Kanter - You've just been shadowed

I've decided to follow, Beth Kanter, who is a trainer, consultant, for non for profits who want to use social media particularly because there are certain similarities in what we do. I on the other hand am PR/Social Media Strategist, and one the things that I do we do as a company is to create campaigns for companies that not only serve the bottom line but also serve the public by addressing a social need. We call this a positional advocacy.

An example of which was a campaign that my… Continue

Thinking like a child helps solve problems

Think like a child – children have no limit to their thinking

I work in PR. More often than not I'm faced with problems and challenges everyday that I constantly need to be creative in order for me to give quality output. That being said there are times when I can;t seem to be creative. So what do I do? I step back, put preconceptions and stereotypes aside, and then I think about how I would do the task or problem If I had no limits.

Thinking this way, opens me up to new… Continue

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
