In a country like India where some areas get heavy rainfall and people die as a result of flooding, and other areas where there is drought, some sort of rain water storage and good drainage is essential.
I can imagine homes and communities invest in rain water harvesting systems to preserve and conserve water. I have seen with my own eyes some of the acute water problems in some parts of India. Those are the cities that need help from the more fortunate ones.

We have entered a new era where plastic credit cards have virtually been eliminate
Finger print identification or palm print indentification has become the only form of transaction.
The government has decided to use a PIN along with this for the first year to be used as the trial period and will gradually phase out of this if problems are not encountered.

I love what Prema Salgoankar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahila_Milan) is doing with this program. It gives the women who work tirelessly to support her family a way to save for emergencies and for the future. Also, it is not uncommon for women in the slums to be the bread winner for the family while the husband spends it on booze and not on bread !
