A crash course in changing the world.
I wake up in the morning, happy and ready to tackle yet another problem...the world always has problems. As an experienced social innovator I work day in and out to solve problems that few others can. I get a call-there's a problem in tokyo. I hop into my solar powered skim boat, and begin the trip. It takes a week or two, but its all efficient and free and by the time I get there I have a solution gained from weeks of research which I am able to do anywhere in the world - even in the middle…

He was chosen as Ashoka fellow for expertise in the environment. I chose him, primarily because he is an exciting new social innovator from my home country, South Africa. He is adressing some of the most important issues in my country such as food security and the environment. I look forward to following him, and seeing how he continues to innovate.

What you have matters more than what you lack (If you’ve got a bicycle, consider what you can build based on that, rather than worrying about not having a car, a truck, a metal shop.)
We can only save the world with the materials we have so its extremely important to use them wisely and resourcefully
