Birthday

It is my daughters 10th birthday and we are throwing her a party. We now use a combination of solar panels and a decomposition machine to power the house with electricity. The kids love putting degradable waste into the processer and watching it glow as the waste is turned into power, the remaining mass is a great for fertilizing the garden.

Imagine 3

My favorite holiday is Christmas, and my family ALWAYS decorates a Christmas tree. Some Christmases we even decorate two trees. We also decorate the outside of our house with Christmas lights. In 2020, I imagine that we would have some way to power the Christmas lights using sustainable energy. Maybe we will harness solar energy during the day and that will be enough energy to light up the house and tree all evening.

I would also imagine that there will be a form of sustainable energy…

Learn 3

A site called springwise.com had a technology listed that was developed by former Apple engineers that learns how to conserve energy. The innovation is called Nest, and it is a smart thermostat that learns about its owners and adapts based on their habits.

The thermostat records the usage and patterns of the owners, and learns where it can make changes in order to save energy. For instance, if the owner of the house always turns off the air before going to work Monday-Friday, but…

Easter Sunday Festivities

In the year 2020, we are celebrating one of my favorite holidays of all time: Easter! I have such fond memories of celebrating Easter when I was growing up. As soon as my brother and I would wake up - we would go Easter egg hunting around the house. But instead of hunting Easter eggs, we would hunt our Easter basket which our parents always filled with our favorite things. Then it was always a big tradition in my family to go to Easter Sunday service at our local church. After the service,…

Revolution Energy

For this mission, I decided to learn more about an organization that is creating sustainable ways to power our everyday lives. This organization is Revolution Energy, whose mission is to become the leader in providing affordable and meaningful energy solutions for municipalities, non-profits, and businesses seeking sustainability who are unable to finance large investments and/or are dissatisfied with other energy service companies who provide high-cost, low-impact solutions.

I really…

Special day in the year 2020.

I am going home with some chicken and cake, because today is my mom's birthday. Finally I arrived at home. First things first I took the small cube out my my car wheel, and plugged it in inside the generator for our electricity. While I am eating I am amazed, I was wondering how can a cube that is smaller than my palm could store a lots of energy.

Design a new way to power something you use everyday.

My dad has a factory, from what I heard from my mom is that he uses a lots of transportation like trucks and car. One day my mom was angry because my dad uses 2/10 of these for car fuel, and because of that the money for the electricity and water was not enough.

While I was hearing this conversation I had an Idea. My Idea was to reduce using the car, but that if my dad decides to do that the money that he gets will be reduced, and if it gets reduced still they will have no money to…

Act-3: Design a new way to power something you use everyday.

Everyday I always use my phone to communicate. However, Sometimes I always run out of a battery in a place where I can't charge. My Idea is that I'm going to put a small solar panel above my hat so it can receive sunlight and turn it into electricity. That way I can Charge my phone wherever I run out of battery in a place where I can't find any electricity. This is the drawing that I make based on the idea that I talked about. …

Imagine 3: Tell a creative story about how you're celebrating a special day in the year 2020.

Finally it's 17 of august this year. Every Year Indonesia people always celebrate this year because this is really important for me, my family and indonesian people. Usually my family always celebrate this event by cook lot of food and eat together with my relatives. The powered comes from the power plants. However I imagined my house being powered with eco-friendly energy so it's really good for not only us 'Human" but also the plants and the animals. For Example using solar panel. With…

Learn 3- Who else is inventing creative, sustainable ways to power our everyday lives?

After I search throughout the internet, I found Something amazing from Africa. Four girls Invented a urine Powered generator. The girls are Duro-Aina Adebola (14), Akindele Abiola (14), Faleke Oluwatoyin (14) and Bello Eniola (15). You May not believe it the first time you read this and say it's ridiculous, but let's not see it from the dirty sides but see it from the creative sides. I think that this idea is really creative because not only this idea is more cheap but it's also…

Mission 3 - ACT

Okay, I am not an engineer. However, I like to think big, so I wanted to design a way I could fuel heat and air conditioning for my home. I LOVE heat and air conditioning! I am attracted to the microbioFuel cell, because it produces both electricity and methane (gas). In Charleston, SC, we have a lot of algae, but I am wondering whether it wouldn't be possible to achieve the same results by mixing algae, seaweed and humates with regular bio-decomposables--like from the garden (compost) and…

a 3

In terms of the Pee-thing, could they be implemented with toilets at home? As well as having a solar-powered home, going to urinate could also help power your house! Each toilet would have a filter that would drain flushed liquids and then distribute it onto the chloride paper. The toilet would have a built-in LCD screen which would tell people when the chloride paper was almost finished so that people could go out and buy some more handy-packs (which include toilet paper AND chloride paper…

Another interesting idea I found is the socalled Sure Chill. It describes a technology to promote the refrigeration of people or food under every possible evironmental circ**stances. Especially in areas like Africa this could be a helpful technology to promote electricity to cool products in harsh evironments. Sure Chill uses solar power. Especially off-grid technology could serve remote communities to keep their food cool, e.g. with the help of solar batteries. Technologies like this would…

Merry Xmas

Christmas 2020:

Waking up on christmas morning, I go to the bathroom and take a shower. Luckily, the rain water tank on the roof is pretty full, thanks to global warming, since snow is now rain. The entire household is running with rain water and I don't have to worry much about water prices. I put on my clothes, which are special as well, because they absorb every move I make and store the power. The floors in our house are sensitive to pressure and also work as a storage device. I…

Solar energy

For me, Fabio Rosa is a Power Player.

In 1992 he founded a private organization called Sistemas de Technologia Adequada Agroeletro (STA). His aim was to provide Brazil's rural areas with electricity, since approximately 25 million people lacked access. In a country bigger than Australia it is very hard to reach remote places and thus to install power lines. Consequently, many people had to resettle and move to the big cities, where they had to tackle poverty and wouldn't have been able…

Electricity from kinetic energy

I choose MotionPower from New Energy Technologies, Inc. They developed technologies which harness excess vehicle energy (‘kinetic’ or ‘rolling’ energy) and convert it to sustainable electricity. They produce harvesting systems which are an alternative energy technology which captures kinetic energy of decelerating cars and trucks and creatively converts this captured energy to usable electricity. They capture kinetic energy to use it for electricity. So the idea is that energy isn`t wasted…

Power Shift_03_Imagine

When I think about a special day in 2020 maybe it could be the wedding of my little sister.

Its summer, the sun is shining and the day is prepared. The marriage-ceremony isn't so far away from place of celebration- an old manor house with a little lake and a huge meadow. After the ceremonial event we drive to the location where all friends are still waiting to celebrate the bridal couple. My sister is an incurable romantic so we ride on a horse drawn carriage.

The celebration is…

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

The meal

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Foods are vacc** sealded for easy…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
