IMAGINATION 004 - WATER CRISIS

WATER CRISIS - In 2020, I like the idea of hundreds of windows, dressed up to look like rivers & waterfalls. Salmon jumping, fish swimming and of course families fishing, drinking and cooking near the river.

ACT 003 - POWER SHIFT

POWER SHIFT - We make many of the things we used to purchase. So we're recycling the containers we do need to buy and reducing overall purchases. This takes some team work, and helps us develop our relationship with each other in the process. Our biggest change as far as power use is concerned is
the back up kerosene heater we started using last year. O.K. not so amazing but it's off the grid :)

IMAGINE 003 - POWER

Here we are celebrating a graduation in the year 2020. Well, the air I breath is not real, there has been oxygen added to improve my circulation, lowering cancer rates across the country, and reducing the load on hospitals around the world. So, as the solar powered air scrubbers on the roof's ridge-line send air through the oxygen sleeves in the attic, I'll set up the bar for the party. I rented oxygen canisters from the hospital, I'll take 'em back for the deposit next week. Kids… Continue

LEARN 003 POWER SHIFT

Well, this has been some day! I have been looking for an innovative product...I realize now that one product won't fill my needs. I like this idea. A conference of East Indian, and Asian producers, with invites to the International community - Electricity Rama! What a great name too!

IMAGINE 2 - FOOD SECURITY

If I eat food that comes from far away...I also drink their water, take their time away from family, I would be taking power away from the farmer who doesn't get the money he deserves; oh I can't ignore the carbon footprint, the lost nutrition. No I'll be eating locally grown vegetables, possibly frozen and actually I've always liked Tofu.

I know we will use a fertile valley and work as a community to bring a harvest in. I see our seniors working together to form a seniors center this… Continue

ACT 2 - FOOD SECURITY

WELL! This one is right up my uh, sideyard shall we say :) Joined the Food Security Network last summer in the Lakehead. Just a wonderful idea, and I was able to share plenty of vegetables with others (who needed it). This year my youngest daughter - will be beginning her own garden. Yes! Now I'm not saying we should all go out and get a rototiller, and rip out the flowers...but at least borrow the rototiller and level one bed, I swear you won't regret it. I instantly became more aware of… Continue

LEARN 2 - FOOD SECURITY

And then there was the daughter who wanted to see the world. My daughter wants some help planning her visit to Peru and Bolivia. Since I certainly would prefer she passed her third-year exams, I'm all over this plan. Wow, am I learning about raw food...mainly grains, all hail the humble farmer! I posted a video.

LEARN1 - SOCIAL

I found a group in the city who have taken bicycle repair to new heights. Each Tuesday morning, and Wednesday night; this group of people meet in Thunder Bay to build bicycles. Here is a sound bite: http://www.b4hthunderbay.org/docs/20081201CBCRadioWorldat6.mp3 <---this 'promotional' story aired on Canada's National Radio, CBC. I live in a remote area, 1000kms north-west of Ottawa, yet bicycles work here too! I like… Continue

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

The meal

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Foods are vacc** sealded for easy…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
