the manifesto!!!

The network serves to empower societies and create nation builders and social reformers through children. It recognizes the need
of a child- likeness character and mentality in change. In giving children a
platform to express themselves and the changes they want to see and implement,
the core ethical consideration is to be on the look out for child exploitation

the kids are next

What do we do now? Where are they going to come from? The leaders of tomorrow! The social innovators of tomorrow! Seems like we have ran out of human resources! Who do we use? Where do we look? The answer is right in front

of you; empower the children and innovation

will stem from grass root levels… Innovation will grow and spread like a veld

fire, more people will be impacted and interested, children always have…

future of Evoke

I think the next season of evoke should have an episode especially tailor made for scholars between the ages of 7 and 14 years old. As much as I think change is a good thing at any level, l also think that change should start form

grass root levels. If children and young people can be given the opportunity to

be world changers and social innovators then that would go a very long way in

changing the world. There is truth in the…

crisis team

Its 2011, and my heroic effort during this flu pandemic is to rally around a group of social thinkers with a conscious about

the needs of the public, transparency, honesty and trust is how they operate.

They have been trained how to work well under immense pressure and how to

control unrest within the public, they produce information in a timely manner,

to the…

Outbreak Communication: How the Sources See the Story

It is very interesting for me to learn that public trust should be the basis of all kinds of reporting, what I find is common though is nowadays in reporting, there is no conscious involved. Reporters…

board game- physical object

Below is a model picture of the game that I have

created, is a simple children’s game that challenges primary school students to

engage with indigenous knowledge. For instance, after rolling a die, you maybe

asked to either recite traditional poetry or a local proverb and explain what

it means or tell a traditional folk story. As the students advance in…

This is too cool… I’m changing the meaning of indigenous, the meaning is actually going as far as Hollywood. The face paste/ mask I discussed in the LEARN MISSION will be a hit worldwide, as people will be realising from the…

emergency red booths in the streets of grahamstown

Resilient development in Grahamstown looks like the city having ‘RED ALERT STATIONS’ that look like the red telephone booths in the UK (as the picture above). In every booth there will be a small highly secures computer and a smart phone, this will make it easier for those without internet connection or smart phones to submit their handy hinds for any pending

or already…

It was quite amusing to learn form my neighbours, I decided to reach children as people hardly ever want to hear what they think of ‘important issues’ in the world but

mainly because when…

It is an already existing phenomena in grahamstown that takes place at least once a year where the streets are trashed by disgruntled municipal workers who want better

pay. Due to the fact that…

2020 and what it holds for female farmers

By the year 2020, the female farmers in Ghana would have progressed from subsistence farming to commercial farming. Their farming would begin to open up new avenues for them, where they can also interact with the world at large and get more money and independence. With trading internationally and exposure to these new areas means these women are also improving themselves intellectually and getting educated. As they tap into this level of interaction with the world, they will also strive to…

empowerment through facebook

My plan is a simple one, to create a facebook page for empowering women. The plan is not to teach people only, but also to give them a forum to first voice out what they know and share it with other people. Also pivotal of this venture would be a timely current update on issues relating to women and women abuse.

WFP buys rice from ghanaian farmers

the story that inspires me is "WFP Buys Rice From Ghanaian Farmers For School Meals". This is a program that seeks to empower farmers, especially female farmers financially. I think this venture is a noble cause and worthy of being noted as financial freedon for women, especially poor, single and abused women makes it easier for them to leave the destructable cycle and to pursue better enriched lives for them and their children.

BAREX SOCIETY

A society, BAREXSOC (barter exchange society) started in 2010 by Rhodes Students

is causing a buzz in the wh*** of South African universities. A tendency

towards sharing through battering and exchanging has extended to all corners of

South Africa & rumour has it that BAREX is extending towards INDIA and

other Asian countries. All that is known is that BAREX was started by…

bartering and exchanging system

seeing that i am a student and i am well acquainted with the needs of students, especially those living in private residences. i could establish a barter society where everyone brings in their old junk (such as radios, tvs, heaters etc) and exchanges with others. the aim here is also to create an atmosphere of communual sharing and giving and experience a togetherness that existed a longtime ago before money was created.

money for the future

So often I have seen a vicious cycle in most of the underprivileged communities

around me. I see women taking initiative which is good, they sell fruits,

clothes, sweets etc but they are forever stuck in their poverty even though

they have been at the business for a while. My solution is therefore to be

proactive about teaching these women how to save and budget…

My spectacular event, though a bit drastic would be to launch an international save water protest for 8 hours with people tapping their lips with black tape. The protest will not be open for pregnant women, children, senior citizens and teenagers below 18 years of age.

water awareness

As an evoke water agent I realize that

there is not a lot I can accomplish in a week especially since our vacation is

a day away and almost everybody is heading home. What I plan is to encourage

the already available water visionary to create awareness on the world water

crisis, so often people only know their water situation and do not know how bad

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
