Where is Evoke Going

An issue not yet covered: I don't think that Evoke has really got involed with the issue of fisheries depletion, this is a major world wide issue and could be an interesting and thought invigorating topic.

An Evoke station should be set up in a few of the affected neighbourhoods where people cannot access it via the internet. Sessions should take place in an office of somesorts verbally, so that poor people can get involved an offer insight on problems that directly involve…

A new major corparation recently opened up in Cape Town, South Africa, called B.O.R.O. This acronym stands for Bank Of Recycable Objects.

The creater of this ingenious operation is Helen Zilla, the mayor of Cape Town. This works by people bringing in disposable good or recycable goods. Like plastic, milk bottles, galss bottles and other things. In return for what they bring in, they will recieve a gift voucher for a major food market that will correspond with this operation. This way…

Fortunately I already did a special type of trade at the beginning of my school term. One of my dorm mates from my boarding school decided to stop playing rugby and take up hockey as his winter sport. Fortunate at the same time I was stopping hockey and starting rugby.

Now with both of us being boarders its difficult to just go buy the sporting equipment we need, and we both needed our sports kit that week for trials. Now He had a hockey stick but was in need of clothes. And I…

The main places where money needs to be saved so drasticaly is mostly in the third world countries. And it is in these countries that there are many stores where people sell their man made goods. A way to save money here, is for every store to be open to accept the trade of bartering. This way people will be able to exchange goos that they don't need, as much as someone else who has what they need, and be able to make a profitable someone who makes pots for a living, and is in need of…

For my world water day, I will be hosting a community effort to errect large water colectors. This will require everyone to work together with emense team effort.

Groups of people, from each suburb, of each city will be gathering together to build these water collectors, in a local park, or ontop of bulding. These will lead through filtered pipes that go into a bore h***. This h***, will supply water to most public taps and toilets. These systems will also be connected to the…

The Life Straw

Recent statistics have shown that there are atleast one billion people living without access to clean, drinkable, sanitated water. This is shocking. This results in the suffering of millions. It could be expected, that if you don't have sanitated water, you couldnt easily access a hospital. There is a simple solution to this, a simple and sustainable way to prevent people from contracting water born diseases.

You are not supplying people with the clean, water, you are enabling…

It is NYE 2020! And I am at a fan park celebrating the beginning of a green year. This party will be sponsored by firms aiming for sustainable energy in South Africa. The special guest of the night is the creater of the Lebone group. Tonight we will be eating all sorts of cooked food. It has either prepared over a braai (a wood fire), or cooked in a gas stove or oven. Drinks will be cooled with ice in containers. The lights will be solar powered, that have been charging during the day. It is…

Solar Powered Laptop Charger

Every day I use my laptop in almost evry class I am in. An so do all my peers. Because I am in a laptop orienatated school we learn using our computors. So every day, about 600 pupils need to charge their laptops for an average of 2hours. This is a callosal waste. I think that by using solar powered chargers for our machines we will save alot of energy. Living in sunny South Africa we are gifted with constant sunshine in the summer, and have many sunny days in the winter…

The Wave Roller

Energy has been generated using hydro power for a while now, but nothing even comes close to this. GEARFUSE have created The Wave Roller. The WaveRoller is a device anchored to the sea bed, which has side shifting plates which sway with the movement of the waves. The kinetic energy generated is stored in a piston pump, and then can be converted to electricity using a hydraulic system.

The system used a natural occurring event called the “bottem wave” phenomenon. Which basically…

My Hero

The hero I chose to shadow was Judy Marais. She is an out of practise verternarian, but still does community work 3 times a week. How does she help the community? She spays and nuetors animals for poor community. This helps by stopping animals from mating with each other and making unwanted offspring. When this does happen people turn out the pups or kittens out to the streets. And they die, causing deases and famine.

Food security

being a boarder in my school, it is considerably difficult for me to go somewhere evrey day and work on a out of school project every day. However luckily there is a small shopping centre outside my school. And there are a few beggars who sit outside everyday hoping for some kind passers by to offer them spare change.

So to help, every day I would walk up to Silwood (the name of the centre out side my school), and I would buy her a bad of apples and a 2litre carton of…

On this night, I will be eating a home made dinner by myself. What am I eating? A home made soup. I will be making this soup out of home grown vegetables and home made bread.

The vegetables will be organicaly grown out nack, in my garden. It will have cordoned off areas for growing herbs, spices, and vegetables.

The bread will be pita, easily made by mixing flour and bread and cookimg it in an oven,

I will get the water from my filtered tap, which…

in the year 2020, I will be 26 and fresh out of university. I will be the apprentice of a succesful chemical engineer. And focus on the establishment of Eco-friendly chemicals. I will also be an active member of my community and a social inovator. Helping out whenever possible and urging my firm to sponsor events for charity. My daily life will be waking up next to my beautiful girlfriend, getting fresh and ready for the day at work, and on weekends I will partake in community events. Living…

The main food security issue near me, is the fact that all the informal settlements are starved. they have no money to buy food and no where to get food. In their living area, there is no place to grow their own food, and even if they did it would get stolen by other dwellers. Unfortunately the only solution they see is to steal food, or money to buy food. This often results in stabbing and deaths.

There are many charities set up to feed the homeless, but there calamity of our…

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
