In this allegiance, I would work with Changemakers. I would work to provide sanitation and clean drinking water to people around the world. I would work to raise money to purchase water bottles with the filter in them and then distribute the bottles in the communities that need them most. I think that this would be a great organization to work with. They have companies such as PepsiCo. backing them so they must be a good company.

EVOKE works by educating you about a subject or pressing issue. It then gives you resources to LEARN more about the issue and it's underlying causes. Then, it calls you to act. It calls you to come up with solutions and make a different in the issue. After that, it makes you imagine. Imagine the possibilities that could happen from this solution. Imagine what you could do to help solve this problem.

I think that urgent evoke should focus on illegal immigration reform next. There is a lot of opportunity for some good ideas on that front. No one seems to know what exactly to do in or order to solve the issue and there appears to be no real solutions right now. I think they should try to build up communities in high schools. Some of those kids have the best ideas. I would make the next EVOKE a game rather than just a bunch of blog posts. That gets real old doing all of them. I would also…

My site would be designed to help people in the event of a natural disaster. Living in Florida, natural disasters are a constant concern. My site would have communication access to all available resources and would be able to help house about 100 people. It would not be that tall in order to produce little wind resistance and would be able to withstand fires. It would also be on high ground so I wouldn't have to worry about flooding.

I think that the insight that I found to be most surprising and important was the one about how people react to a pandemic. I found this to be real interesting because I have always felt that the worst thing you can do in a negative situation, is overreact. I have always felt that overacting only produces more problems and leads to decisions that need to be made with a clearer head. I think that this is by far, the most important piece of advice.

I have chosen an european deer mount as my object. I have chosen to pass it along to other generations and cultures so that we remember where we came from. Not many people have a deer scull hanging on their wall. It has been my observation that society doesn't know where their food comes from and this scull should be a reminder of that. I feel that it would make society appreciate what they have available to eat, if they were able to realize that an animal gave its life in order for them to…

I picked the Case Study of Santaca Pilot Project1 in Mozambique. I found it to be interesting because the government decided to work with the locals instead of against them. They took into account, the way of life in the communities and collaborated with them to accomplish their goals. This has added stability to the communities where the coal is being harvested. This case goes to prove that you can accomplish a lot more with honey than you do vinegar and you that collaboration will get you…

Tampa has numerous warning services designed to warn people about hurricanes. There are radio stations that broadcast information and numerous news channels are constantly keeping the community up to date on the latest information. There are also tornado warnings that can be heard on the radio as well. If you don't know about a hurricane before it is coming, it is because you live in a h***. Many of the local papers also publish hurricane survival guides that tell you what you need and where…

For Florida especially, a very real crisis that could happen in the future would be a drought. Florida agriculture is a huge contributor to the Florida economy and a drought would devastate tax revenues that agriculture brings to the state. There are certainly summer that are drier than others. Not only would a drought cause agriculture to suffer, but it could also fuel some of the state's wildfires. This could create massive devastation and the state would suffer from the lack of water…

It's the year 2020. Women all across the world have equal opportunities to education and voting rights. There is not glass-ceiling in the work force. They are given the same respect in society as men are. They can do anything they work for. Issues of gender inequality are not longer an issue in regions of Africa and South America. The Middle East still needs work but progress is being made. Women's lives are better now than they have ever been and there is no sign of that momentum slowing…

Some of my classmates and I made an effort to reach out to the Gainesville Women's Club. We raised money in an effort to help them, help the community. We helped take care of their butterfly garden, plant new trees and participated in the city's recycling program. This helped raise awareness of the organization in the community.

If the flu pandemic hit again, there are a few people that I would definitely call on. The first person I would call upon would be my dad because he is in healthcare administration. He would be able to set up the appointments and organize everything. The second person I would call on would be my uncle. He is a doctor and it would be vital to have him on my team. The last person I would call on, would be my mom. She is a RN and knows medicine as well as any doctor. I would ask them to spread…

Care farming: an innovative approach for promoting women’s economic empowerment, decent rural employment and social inclusion. What works in developing countries?

Located in European countries, care farming is a rehabilitation experience in which vulnerable persons partake in farming. It is designed to help them integrate back into society. It is mainly done in rural areas where access to such an opportunity is few and far between. It works by taking in vulnerable persons and giving…

Urgent Message. Throughout my 100 years on planet earth, I have remained silent about my environmental concerns until now. It has been my observation that not enough emphasis has been placed on providing adequate food security for the world's human population. Today is a day in which such an emphasis must be placed. Overpopulation is further adding to the lack of food security. I urge the U.S. government to start setting aside more resources to help feed the world.

In 2020, I hope to be able to celebrate July 4th at my families lake house. I hope to be have solar panels by that point, that produce enough energy for the house to run on. I also think it'd be cool if the grill ran on solar heat as well. That would save the trouble of having to use charcoal or buy propane. This would be a great source of sustainable energy and would be cost effective for my family to use.

It’s hard to believe that 2020 is only six years from now and that I will 30 years old by that point. By the year 2020, I hope to working in agriculture chemical sales. I will hopefully be helping to feed the world by providing farmers and producers with agricultural chemicals that are vital to their production operations.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
