A crash course in changing the world.
At my school in Biology we were tasked in doing a survey about something very important to us. After seeing this mission on EVOKE I snapped up the opputunity to do something about water. So I decided to do a survey on how people save and use water in thier bathrooms. Here is a questinaire of my survey.. Maybe you can give me some ffedback about some of these questions.…

When I read this mission i totally inspired to do something really good. After I long hard thought of what I was going to do I decided on create a solar cooker from recyclable materials.I first went out and find all the ryclyable materials that one would find in a dustbin to use on my solar cooking. Things I collected included tin foil, cardboard, loose peices of class. I also used the inside of chip packets as they are great in reflecting the sun…

Tonight I am out camping on my own. I have started a braii with some sticks and leaves I have found. For dinner I am having some fresh fish I caught that afternoon. I am also having a starch in the form of patoe that I have wrapped in foil and cooking in the fire. I am also having a salad of fresh vegetables I have picked throught he course of the day.
The meal is the best I have ever had as I made it completly myself and everthing I have used is renewable..

My hero is Riaan Manser:
Riaan Manser was the first person to circ**navigate Africa on a bicyle and then later on he canoed around Madagacar. What he had does has inspired me and I am shore many others by travelling around this fine continent and having lots of good things to say about it.
This has inspired me to do something like this.
Thanks Riaan.

I have done some researching and find that there is a thing could a Life Straw that UN troops distribute to people in the communties they help. What the straw does when you drink dirty water through the straw it cleans it and by the time it gets into your mouth the water is safe to drinks.
They cost $2 dollars and can filter 700l of water.
These things are simply brilliant!!!!

I imagine of one day having a totally successful and unique environmentally friendly party.
It will use wind, solar and energy from water.
We well have huge speakers and amps totally powered by are 7 huge solar panells. We would try and plan the party on a windy ay so we can use that as another sorce of energy.
The partywill have three founntains that will flow through a turbine and create energy. At the games we will also be playing lots of games on who on the day can…

I think the use of having vegtable gardens in poor communties is a great idea. They are not to difficult to substain but they have some really good positive effects such as; Providing the community with nutrious food. It also provides jobs as well as a steady profit for the people of the community innvolved.
I think goverments should reall get involved in helping funding the comunities to start these gardens. It does not cost a huge amount but the effects be…

I live in South Africa, in the Western Cape. In South Africa we have the highest Gini co-efficient (gap between rich and poor) in the world. We have some people who have more money than they will ever need but on the same hand we have people who have to fight just have maybe a piece of bread in a day. In the long run in terms of a countries growth this is not the favourable option. One of the problems this brings is that we have a huge problem of hunger in many of our poorer communities.…

I belief in the world today, we are facing some serious problems such as a lack of food, shelter, health care and various other things. Fortunatly we have some great people with really good ideas and itiatives in how to solve these problems.
We must not just identify tthe problems and think about them. We should take it to the next level which is action. Because if we do not begin to do this we are facing some serious problems.
