A crash course in changing the world.

10 Steps to make your business idea a reality

  • STEP 1. Brain storm a possible business or a franchise idea that will utilize your talent and skills. Do not wait for the perfect idea to materialize; this will only cause delays in getting started. Generate an idea, product or service, that you will promote.

  • STEP2. Start and finish the research without delay. Research business ideas that interest you. Find out if there's a need for the product or service you'll offer or if one can be created. Also, find out what the research says about the competition.

  • STEP3. Name the company if you still believe in the idea after the research is complete. Check for a previous copyright to make sure that the desired business name is available sometimes referred to as Doing Business As or DBA.

  • STEP4.Decide if the business is a sole proprietorship, partnership, etc. There are pluses and minuses either way. In regard to a partner(s), choose one that is loyal and trustworthy.

  • STEP5.Create the business plan during or immediately after the research. Get a software package or hire a professional; don't hesitate to invest a few extra dollars to get this done.

  • STEP6. Depending on the structure of the business, get required licenses, Employee ID number, etc. Do this as soon as feasibly possible.

  • STEP7. If it's a home-based business, prepare the office space with computers, phones, printer, fax machine, copier, and office supplies. If new stuff is out of the question, buy low cost or used office furniture.

  • STEP8. For a business outside of the home, price furniture, determine office space needed, choose desired location, and estimate overhead costs. Also, consider if the location is customer friendly: good parking space and safe environment.

  • STEP9. Enlist a team of professionals to get the business up and running, for instance, financial backers, ad agency, marketing specialist, and/or graphic designer for business logo.

  • STEP10. Tell only those who support your vision of a business or franchise; don't invite negativity from anyone who may envy what you're doing. Now is the time to move the business beyond dreaming into reality.

Thanks for shararing Stefano. Do you think there is a difference when you are starting a regular business and a social innovation?

Yes, there are differences, especially about funding. But there also a lot of similarities when it comes to the process. I've not experienced a social business yet, but I feel that the sense of fulfillment that derives from a sustainable, effective social enterprise is way superior to that of continuously trying to maximize the profits of few people.

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
