In ten years from now, I'll likely be living in California with my husband, the bay area if hiring trends follow as they have been, probably central coast if not. I will have completed the medical program I am studying to get into and will be taking yearly trips with Medicins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) to the poorest areas of the world to provide medical care to those in need. In between trips will be spent enjoying my time with my cop husband and providing medical care at low-cost multi-lingual clinics, or maybe writing the fiction I have vaguely sketched out to be both entertaining and bring light to the dangers and reality of being a police officer.
Perhaps not the sweeping changes some innovators make, but to those who are sick, a doctor can mean the world.
