A way to make food easier to share with others is to organize a group in your neighborhood that collects excess food/donations on a weekly or bi-weekly basis and then deliver it to a local shelter. I think many people are willing to help the community, but many are too lazy to put the time in. Organizing a group in your neighborhood will make donating easier and more consistent for those who feel their lives are too busy to put in the time. Group members can assign certain weeks or months where only a couple of members are responsible at a time to collect the food. This way, members in this group won't get tired of participating in the group and time commitment will be minimal, which may help attract new people to join the group.
