I chose Laura Stachel as my hero to shadow. Laura Stachel is the founder of WE CARE Solar, which stands for Womens Emergency Care and Reliable Energy. It is a foundation which provides solar powered solutions to municipal hospitals in Nigeria, in the hopes of reducing maternal mortality rates. She has done incredible work and she is a finalist in the Global Social Venture Compeition, http://www.gsvc.org/, Global Social Incubator Competition at Santa Clara University, and a runner up for the Blum Social Entrepreneurship Award. Certainly +1 for knowledge share:) Thanks Julian for bringing Global Social Venture Competition into perspective. I've heard about We Care Solar before but never knew anything about Laura Stachel. Great to have this opportunity to know from your post that she founded We Care Solar.
I was also thinking you might be interested to know about Sanjit 'Bunker' Roy of Barefoot College and how he made grandmothers from Africa come and learn from the Barefoot disciples in a small village Tilonia in Rajasthan (India) where Barefoot college is situated. The college is the only such academic institution in the world that is 100 percent run by solar energy only.

Fourth of July on the Lake
This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat.
