Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

It is a particularly hot summer day, in 2020. Even the wind blowing off the lake is hot and muggy. One man has his SUV backed up to a barbecue pit and is busy unloading coolers of food. He pauses briefly to wipe the sweat off his brow and checks his watch. The others will be here soon, he thinks, best to finish unloading now. Almost the instant he has that thought another car pulls up. Its passenger gets out and moves to assist him in preparing.

"Hey John!" the second man says as he grabs a case of sodas, "This sure is a lot of food. It's going to be quite the barbecue."

"Dude, its going to totally rock." John says in excitement, "Do you know where the rest are, Bill? They should be here by now."

"Ahh, they are right behind me, had to get the beer first." Bill says as he wipe sweat from his brow, "Whew, sure is hot. I hope they are quick, I could certainly use a cold one."

"Yeah. Weatherman said it was going to get up to 105 today, but he always lies." John says as he continues to work.

Bill whistles softly at his words, "Wow. That's the 3rd day in a row....You know, when I was a kid it only got that hot once every few years. Seems like its that hot all the time now."

"Naw, dude. That's just your imagination. Its always been this hot in the Midwest." He pauses as the last cooler is unloaded, "I hope things turn out ok. All I could find was that hydro-whatever crap."

Bill shakes his head and chuckles, " You mean Hydroponics. Don't worry about it, those rumors about them being grown in a vat of chemicals are a total lie."

At this time another car pulls up and the pair turn to it with joyful faces. The beer is here, and the cooking shall soon commence.

As time pa**** global warming will only get worse. The only way to head it off is with a very sudden world-wide decrease in emissions. This is not likely to happen by 2020, mostly because of two things. The world will not stop using oil until it becomes much more expensive to use it, and even if the developed countries all stopped there are still plenty of large developing countries that either cannot stop using oil, or simply will not. Climate change may get bad enough that the only way to grow crops will be completely indoors, using Hydroponics. I'm not an expert, so I cannot say if it will get hot enough to make this method necessary by 2020, but I can guess that most of us will still see it within out lifetimes.

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
