Adressing the Social side of Innovation

The Social side of Innovation seems to work against the innovator.

As a decedent of an inventor, the idea of innovation is as natural as my primary spoken language. The secret that will be foreign to me is "Create “transparent” technologies". I may have been looking at the wh*** issue wrongly but, as I see it, the primary issue for the reason the planet is in the shape it is now is simply Greed.

To make a technology "transparent" strips away the financial power the idea had and, to the people we need to get the attention of... most of it's value. "Necessity is the mother of invention" While this is a great way to get ideas going (and i thank Evoke for trying) it immediately makes some people see dollar signs. You'd have to have a REALLY Big heart and to be someone that truly wishes the best for Everything, everyone, every this, every that, every other to make something transparent as described in Exhibit A.

I've seen people with great ideas that never are given the chance to see the light of day
, and ones that do make it are simply ignored because of the profit demands (example Nikola Tesla). Financial constraints stop the idea not only from being heard but also from even being said, (i.e. imagine explaining a compact florescent light bulb as 14 watts being comparable to a 60 watt incandescent to someone that uses candles)

The greed of "my idea" and the money it might make us is, sadly, useualyl the drivign force behind great innovation. Socialization of ideas, as I understand it, is turning "my idea" into "our idea" and to take it step further into "Global idea" and that's where the true saints of our world can be found.

With Evoke I hope we can all get over the "my idea" mentaility and actaully be able to change things for the better world wide.

Insightful about your own self. (and all of us) I'm guessing you have noticed very something profound about money and I'm guessing that stories of tragic failure are mostly mythical and cannot really stop (the opposite of greed, or) abundant generosity. That's my guesses. Good work Skwiggs.

so true

This is as true and realistic as it gets. And it is a sad state of affairs that, if you wish to make a positive change, you must first appeal to someone else's greed.

Good point. I think many people live a "dual" life. We work to support large corporations - and use our earnings to help finance social organizations and charities. However, we can promote positive social values (collaboration, empathy, sharing, honesty, etc.) in the day-to-day corporate world to help keep our companies and clients accountable to society.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
