Alberta Tar Sands Leak

The most damaging crisis that could occur is a spill in the Alberta Tar Sands. These tar sands are massive deposits of oil. If something goes wrong with the equipment used to transfer the oil from point A to B and causes a huge spill, Ushahidi will have no problems attaining information to create a report. This crisis will no longer remain local as this would be a huge deal and it would extrapolate to a national crisis. I would have to track many things during this crisis such as;

*how much wildlife affected

*how much detriment this will cause to the economy

*how many people were affected

*the law suits that will appear in the near future

*the cost of repairs
