A crash course in changing the world.
Andrew Charalambous is an environmental activist from London, who has worked on and promoted a number of environmentally friendly projects. His most recent project was Club Surya, the first eco-nightclub in Britain. Cyclists and walker's are granted free admission and all other who wish to enter must sign a pledge to become more sustainable. Surya uses the lowest-flush toilets and urinals, sells all there drinks in polycarbon cups and gives any extra power to local residences and companies. The most amazing part of Club Surya is that the dance floor produces energy by using piezoelectricity, a way in which crystals create electricity. The dance floor generates 60% of the club's electricity. Here are two pictures to help explain exactly how the generating dance floor works.
