Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

ANIA- http://www.mundodeania.org

Today I went to see an inspiring organisation supported by the ministry of Agriculture of Peru and brought to my attention by Agent Nick Heyming http://www.urgentevoke.com/profile/NickHeyming?xg_source=profiles_m... Thank you. I am in discussion with them and eager to participate in the coming month which is why I blog it as my Act2 evidence.

They are a voluntary, NGO that runs projects all over Peru and other areas collaborating and in contact with many other similar NGOs in regards to agriculture, teaching and conservation. It's inspiring. They work within schools which is a project I myself might participate here in Lima, Peru as well as have many other projects up in other parts of Peru. In schools they make children have workshops discussing sustainable agriculture, teach them how to grow their own foods and highlight the importance of sustainable living or well knowledge of where and what we eat and how it can affect sustainability. They create personal gardens in houses here in Lima that the children nurture and they assist. To build their confidence understanding and make them better aware when eating where it comes from and all conversation I am talking about it is great!

Their Vision as taken from their website:

'Our Vision
Our vision is embodied in the "World of Ania. This is a better world for all living beings created with the girls and boys. In it, children grow up living with love and biodiversity and are recognized as agents of change. Develop actions that benefit both themselves, other human beings and nature.
In the World of Ania cultivated the culture of love and unity with the Natural World

This is a lifestyle built on the principle that we are one with the world and our reason for being lies in exercising the capacity we have to create welfare for all beings who inhabit it. It feeds on feelings, thoughts, words and actions that create, sustain and celebrate life and its diversity, which are transmitted from one generation to another allowing us to advance to a state of greater compassion, inclusion, integration, consistency, freedom and peace .

Culture of Love in the breed and we honor the nature, not conquer or exploit.
We value and protect the elderly and children, not ignore them or abandon them.
The diversity is celebrated, not censored.
Poverty is the lack of spirituality, not lack of material.
Education and work are means of realization, not for the acc**ulation of self.
The energy that drives us comes from love, not fear.''

They recognise a great problem which we together on here also see as something we need to change, I quote again:

''We live in a global context where they are taught values and practices that jeopardize our ability to sustain life on the planet. The environmental crisis we face is largely the result of our disconnection from the natural world. Our intemperate habits, produced a growing demand for energy, pressure on natural resources, emissions of greenhouse gases and air pollution, land and water on the planet. We know that 60% of ecosystem services that support life on our planet are being degraded (Ecosystem A****sment Millennium UN 2004); also that, on average, to maintain our consumption habits, we need 22 hectares per person and only 15.7 acres available (GEO 4 report, UNEP 2007). We conclude that radical changes are needed in our behavior and values in relation to how we treat nature. If we consider that it is during childhood when we form our values in life, the situation becomes more worrisome as we witness how girls and boys grow increasingly disconnected from nature, with the idea that their welfare is independent of the state of its environment.

In ANIA believe that to address and overcome the environmental crisis which we live, we need to migrate from a culture of disunity to one of unity and love with the natural world. This requires that society make a common front and create the necessary conditions for girls and children to develop love for nature and the skills to live in harmony with it.''

Their objective currently is too inspire young people, with a current focus in Peru and Latin America.

Anyone in Peru interested I suggest highly to contact their office as I was there today and they are lovely people, genuine organisation for change; real Evokers also getting people and banks onboard. They will be helpful in all ways possible and if you check out their website and sponsors and collaborators.

Details on their website;- with contacts Samira Succar in Lima Barranco office I spoke to today for volunteering. Ursula Leyva who Agent Nick Heyming nicely introduced me to and was very helpful and runs some projects in Puerto Maldonaldo.

My act2 is I will be teaching children and assisting in developing and sustaining 18 gardens in Lima and teaching more here in Lima, each person who enters my home about the work this organisation do and how they should get involved. I will post further once involved.

Way to go Radhika! I really hope you and any agents in Latin America interested in making a long term change in their communities get involved with ANIA. The idea that children are 60% of the population in some areas and have 0% of the land is sad.

ANIA just wants 1% of the land to be dedicate to the children. Lets help them reach that goal.

Funny enough, my girlfriend may have just out of the blue gotten a ticket to fly down to Peru next month and do a doc**entary on ANIA.

good post. It is wonderful to include thoughts for the children--and make them reality. Organizations like ANIA help bridge the gaps to our shared future. Thank you.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
