Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

Here's an idea that I thought about when hearing about some of the baby products on the market now (Congrats Ben & Morgan!).

So my friends were telling me about a baby monitor which will notify you when your baby stops moving. The idea is that a baby should always be moving (at least breathing). That idea of constant motion seemed like it might have some energy use...so here's the idea.

1. Create a crib with springs on the bottom of the crib to provide cushioning and some travel in the bottom of the crib (we'll call the surface that the baby sleeps on the "floor" from here on).
2. Suspend a magnet from the underside of the crib's floor such that when the floor moves up and down from the baby's motion, the magnet is moving between either another set of coils, or perhaps you could even use the springs as the wire you need to make this contraption a generator.
3. Now that you have some power being generated by the movement of the baby, setup a wind-up buzzer of some sort that will be triggered when there is a lack of power. So for instance you could use a very low power solanoid to keep the buzzer off until you lose power, indicating the baby has stopped moving.
4. You could install a small battery between the generator and the solanoid so that you could allow the generator to be off for a short time to compensate for short periods of time where the baby isn't moving enough to create enough energy to power the solenoid.

I suppose this is quite primitive and doesn't have much commercial value in this form, but I think perhaps the idea could be expanded, and the lack of something triggering an event seems like it might hold some value....

This idea sounds very cool. I do not actually know how all of this works exactly, (I haven't graduated yet or hit high school even) but it might actually work. This would work for my baby cousin. I will spread this idea to the rest of my friends.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
