In Spain the main problem with food security is the quality of it and the manufacture process.
Spain has been an agriculture-based economy for lots of years, and the problem is that a great amount of the population is living thanks to state and European subventions on agriculture.
This has create two problems, the cultivation process is getting intensive instead of extensive to meet the food needs and to make it more economically viable.
The problem of this is that the agriculture in Spain costs a lot of money and the way of cultivating is killing the soil and to continue the high demand chemical procedures are used in the soil to make it fertile.
A solution for this is the new ecologic agriculture that is being fomented in the cities to convince a farmer between a group of people to change his way of work to a more sustainable way. The farmer sells all his production to this group of people and the people receive good quality food.
This initiative is called consumption group.
