A crash course in changing the world.
Reading 'invoation in africa' two points strike me. Firstly, there is an obvious passion and desire to improve and innovate. Secondly, the average person lives of $1 a day.
This comes to a head with one of the fundament points listed which reads something like, 'a product is much more successful is sold. You can not give it away'.
This is a place where innovation is at a prime, but money is hard to come by. An answer seems obvious here. Why not charge someone for an hour/ half an hour of their time, in order to recieve the product.
If you want to get product Y into the population, and there is social problem X, why not make Y desirable and make the price of obtaining Y, help in erradicating X.
For instance, if you had alcaholic hand wash (or some other product) which we know is going to cut down drastically on food posining or infection within the home. And we also have a need to dig out a canal say, and therefore need heavy labour. Then you could employ thousands of people for one hour each which would provide them with a boost to their esteam, and also with a product which will help their day to day living.
In short, i don't believe inovation should only be about the creation of new products, but should also be about how we get these products to those who need them.
