A crash course in changing the world.
The low lights contradict how I am feeling inside. The biodegradable china flicks light as the candles dance and my smile only widens as he saunters into the room proudly holding a large serving dish like an old time waiter.
"Dinner is served my dear madame."
I raise an eyebrow in mockery and feigned anticipation in time for his dramatic pull back of the reflective lid and presentation of the meal to me with an open hand.
"Where did you get the chocolate?!" Squealing with delight I had to be served like a child.
I knew of course that our garden would supply the majority of our meal, but a side of chocolate? That truly was a treat. We had become so adequate at producing our own food in our garden since the crisis, it was rare to see something with a wrappper.
He lightly kissed me on the forehead and whispered, "I suppose this means you will keep me around for another 11 years."
