Energy Innovator

I picked Alexis Belonio and the Center for Rice Husk Energy Technology as my social innovator (http://energymap-scu.org/center-for-rice-husk-energy-technology/). They promote the production and use of rice husk gasifiers to provide clean and cheap energy to the Philippines and East Asia. Millions of tons of rice husks are wasted every year when they can be turned into energy easily and cheaply. Rice is a major food source in Asia so using the rice husks is smart, economical, and useful. Hopefully this technology will get more funding and become more readily available.
