Fighting Poverty – Important mission for next evoke/Innovation Class

Some of the goals from millennium development goals can be taken and highlighted more in the Mission and Quest of next Innovation Class of Evoke. Most important of all is FIGHTING POVERTY should be the area to covered next evoke. Eradicate extreme Poverty and Hunger is not a simple mission but it needs to be viewed with lenses of Poverty measurement, Characteristics of Poverty and Causes of Poverty and Hunger in specially third world countries.

Missions can focus on how poverty is well measured through Head Count Ratio (Caloric based poverty measure), Basic needs approach and Poverty of Opportunity. Head count ratio is simply when any person falls below the poverty line described in country is poor. For example in Pakistan if person who earn income which cannot meet the daily intake of 2250 calories per person is considered to fall below the poverty line. In basic need approach, Poverty is measured on income distribution. If the person can not purchase the basic basket of food items from his/her income is poor. Lastly Poverty of Opportunity, If due to fall in income, health or education , the human suffering and hunger increases, the people are considered to be fallen below poverty line and often described poors.

Characteristics of the Poverty are also the interesting things to be researched upon in different countries in missions, suppose few characteristics may include that increase in the size of family, large households are more likely to be poor both in urban and rural areas, households with high dependency ratio are more poor, Female household headed are more poor, If the household head is illiterate/un educated the household is more poor, the households who are unemployed or underemployed are more likely to be poor.

Causes have also important bearing on Poverty and Hunger reduction strategies, Most significant causes include Fall in economic growth in certain country, large fiscal imbalances, stagnant exports, double digit inflation, deterioration in physical infrastructure, poor state of social sector, institutional weaknesses resulting in poor governance etc.

Evoke mission may emphasize to prepare a Poverty Reduction Strategy keeping in view the measure, characteristics and causes of Poverty and Hunger. I think these type of practical missions can help a lot in creating learning culture and working for more practical solutions on EVOKE.

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
