The first challenge in this crazy game is to pick one of the 33 secrets of social innovation that resonates with you most and blog about it here.
Paul Polak's points certainly resonated most with me.
But picking between these four:
think like a child – children have no limit to their thinking
see and do the obvious
work to practical, three-year plans
stay positive – don’t be distracted by what other people think
this proved more difficult than I anticipated.
So I think I'll have to go with all four.
-Thinking like a child is important because as the great quote says: there is no use for people who think they know the limits of the possible.
-Ah doing the obvious.
-Working to a plan.
A Tri-annual one at that, is for me a challenging idea. Nine months ago I started a Crazy Project(
Link) that has rocked my world ever since. Attempting to finish a piece of art every day for a year. Now like most artists I can't stand 90% of what I have created I am however extremely proud of how far I have come.
I will begin formulating a three year plan with the intention of having it ready to begin the day my current project ends on June 9. I have been wondering what I would do next, clearly it is time to start planning for it.
As for staying positive the importance of this cannot be overstated.
For me it it is best put with the old adage:
'Whether you expect the best or worst from people, you will rarely be disappointed'
Peace.
Kim Lang.
