The map is at
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid...The year is 2020 and we have made some improvements.
We have mass transit to reduce our reliance on personal transport and to lower our environmental footprint.
We have utilized our natural running water to create a water purification area to provide local water.
We have added two agricultural areas to improve the locally produced resources.
We have added a solar field to take advantage of some of our unused space.
We have made it a priority to preserve the larger than average amounts of green space we have and have added in fruit bearing trees to give us additional food sources.
We have added a large number of credits for households to improve their energy efficiency through improving the insulation of the homes.
We have partnered with an installation company and offer zero percent city loans for 10 years on solar panel installations in the neighborhood. This has dramatically reduced the overall consumption of external energy and increased the independence of individual households in case of power failures. The lower costs of these mass installations allow us to have a 5 year payoff period which means that home owners pay less for their energy as the loan payments are less than their equivalent energy bill would have been.
