Helping a Woman Escape
For my Act6 I am helping an afghan wife (and mother) escape her husband, whom she has accused of murder. MADRE is executing the escape project with funds from donors such as myself. At his time we have raised $1,595 out of an ideal $26,000. These funds cover the operating costs of a) getting the family out of Afghanistan and starting up a safe life, and b) allowing for emergency measures such as extra local transportation, telephoning, and emergency medical situations.
We have access to the project through this link on Global Giving. We, the EVOKE network, are responsible for the 18th contribution to the plan so far.

Oh, so she has to be taken out of Afghanistan to be safe?
How many other women, men and children are at risk of murder in that country?

She's not being taken out of Afghanistan under the premise that Afghanistan is unsafe. She is being taken out of the country to be far away from the accused. I think that that is not exceptional; I believe that in the US witness protection programs and such wisely move charges between states, up to Canada etc.

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal.
