Since I am well along in my career (and my life, for that matter :) ), in ten years I would expect to be doing the same types of things that I am now: working on projects (training, consulting, partnering) in the fields of alternative energy, community economic development, entrepreneurship and public administration/ governance.
The one thing that will have changed is that I will be doing even more of it in more countries. During the next ten years I intend to significantly expand the areas around the world in which I work. I have been involved in projects in Eastern Europe since 2000. But there are so many places in the world that are both interesting and have significant needs that during the next ten years I plan on finding ways to help develop useful projects globally in as many places as I can. Having more flexibility is my key to staying useful and engaged.
I am presently an American citizen, but within the next ten years I also plan to take advantage of the fact that I can obtain dual citizenship through my wife, who is an Italian (as well as an American) citizen. This will expand the scope of options I have for where I both live and work.
Obviously, the growth and development of technology will also impact what I will be doing and where I will be doing it. The nature of the projects I do depends heavily on keeping up with the newest technologies. I expect the things that will be developed in the next ten years will be at least as exciting and useful as what we have seen in the last ten.
So, if called by Alchemy in tens years to help, I plan on being ready, willing and able to answer the call.
