"
Deliver value; what are the benefits for people using the end product, does it improve a persons life?"
It's interesting that the tips were all about working in Africa with few resources - which is great and sort of the point of this wh*** exercise, but I think that we also need to be working from the other end. From the affluent, scared-greedy end of the world where I live.
A lot of the reason for poverty and inequality, in my opinion, has to do with the fact that we are holding on so tightly to what we have here, out of fear. Fear of being poor, fear of being vulnerable, fear of being robbed.. embarrassed .. whatever it is. And I think that is being manufactured by Governments and the Media and other profiteers. Often on an unconscious level - I'm not saying it's a giant conspiracy - I work in the media myself and I know that people aren't doing it out of malice, but the manipulation is there, it's real, and it's making us respond in ways that hurt us and the people we are withholding the resources from.
So, how does this relate to delivering value? I guess I want to be able to actually make a difference. I want people to be able to see the manipulations for what they are, and to make informed choices about what they are scared of. And maybe to become less scared. To be less stressed. To become more able to give part of what we have, because we are less afraid of what we lose by doing that.
Not sure how much sense that makes. I only just found Evoke yesterday and I'm still a little lost, but enjoying the process. Feels like a 'build you own social innovator' guide, which, yay, and thanks!
