KDV's Ideas for the Next Evoke - you ain't seen nothing yet!

Hello everyone,

Evoke was fantastic, now our challenge is to help the runners of Evoke create the next phase. I had an amazing time playing and met some amazing people.

Here are my ideas for the next phase of Evoke:

• WHICH great challenges and social problems should the EVOKE Network tackle next?

Shadow Cities- the slums cities growing next to some of the largest cities in the world, a paradox they are- squalor yet some of the most amazing innovations occur there. What can be learned from shadow cities and
how can we preserve the best aspects of them while lifting people out of
poverty.

G.R.I.N. Technology/Transhumist/Augmentation prejudice - The human race is already created technologies that allow us to manipulate our own bodies, the world
around us, the flora and fauna in ways that where only considered the realm of
sci-fi 25 years ago. These technologies will be amazing but at the
same time terrifying to certain segments of the human race. These technologies can call in to question a person’s
view of what it means to be human, what is our relation with the universe, with
the divine, with each other. The
blowback from this can be amazing and violent.
How will we as a race deal with these coming enhancements, these miracles
of science.

Transnational Crime Syndicates – these organizations are growing in statute to where they can threaten the national security of some of the strongest governments on the planet, how will
we deal with them. How do these groups affect
the war on women and children? How can we make a difference when there are
active groups fighting against us?

Slavery- right now, there are more slaves on the planet then at any other time in the history of our race. How do we change this.

Over/Under Population- most people are concerned that we have over populated the planet but new research indicates that we are entering a period of population decline that can be devastating for
certain country’s. Which is opinion is right and how can we solve this problem.

Education- right now in industrialized nations and poor nations we are finding education falling by the wayside. The system is broken, based on the concept of training people to work in factory’s; the ability to critical think, to use logic,
to understand concepts and to learn practical
skills occur not by plan but by chance.
How can we change this? And how does technology fit into this?

War- right now the UK MOD and the US department of defense in there long range threat a****sments have identified an concern with resource based warfare occurring between countries and even
between cities as me forward into the 21^st century. What solutions can we implement to head off
this state.

GAIA theory- if the world temperature raises 21 degrees Fahrenheit, this world looses the ability to sustain human life. However,
even without such a radical increase in temperature Scientists like Dr. James
Lovelock believe that our population will decrease from 6.7 billion (current)
to 500 million by the turn of the next century.
The Resilience theory’s of “Buzz”
Hollings when applied to civilizations indicates we have already moved over the
threshold and are in the decline stage of his mobius strip. We cannot go back but we can shorten the drop
and begin the next great push for civilization so how can Evoke help cushion
the fall and prepare for the next golden age.

Preserving Knowledge of indigenous people – some of the oldest groups of people, with unbroken lines going back thousands of years have knowledge of how to live with nature and be a steward for
it. Our job is to preserve and to make
such knowledge palpable(cool) to the next generation.

• WHERE in the world should the network try to build up new EVOKE communities?

South America, Oceania, 2^nd world nations as defined by Praag Khan in “The second world”

• WHO would you encourage to play Season 2?

I would encourage people living in shadow cities, slums the world over to play.

• HOW would you change the game for Season 2?
  I would make the game self scaling, so gaming the leader board disappears
  (consult Agent Brian Ballsun Stanton on this- trust me you should hire him). Have a component that encourages teams
  to create something. Team does not
  have to be together for the wh*** evoke but for that one section.
  
  
• WHAT new tools would you want as an EVOKE agent?

Make Evoke have a smart phone application, most of the world carries a phone rather than a laptop or desktop, so let’s get that app going. Video conferencing
through Skype would be good, Virtual world install in Second Life (yes Ill work
on this between Evokes)

• WHY would you come back for a second Season? What more would you want from the experience?

I will come back because of the friendships, the excellent debate, and the many “Fox” (see pg 229 Wh*** Earth Discipline) rather then hedgehog point of views I encountered through the game. I want a conference that we all can go to,
not just one that winners can get to.
Evoke needs a real world conference for us to present at. We the players would have to egt there, take
care of board and room, and pay a fair fee to participate based on our economic
need. That would be fantastic and I love to help put it together.
